These high temperature, heat & flame resistant silicone rubber coated fiberglass (fibreglass) fabrics are used to protect a variety of hoses, lines, wires, cables and equipment assemblies such as electronic enclosures, valves, robotic heads, festoon cables, EAF cables, etc., from exposure to high temperature, heat, flame, molten metal splash, slag, welding splatter, UV light, abrasion and contamination. 

These fabrics are also used as the outside cover for thermal blanket systems for engine and generator exhaust system components such as turbo covers, supercharger covers, muffler and silencer covers. exhaust system covers.

3 weights of fabric are available:

     · 98 oz/yd2  (approx 0.125" thick) coated one side - the heaviest heat protection fabric
                       available and especially suited to heavy duty molten splash and slag applications.

    
· 34 oz/yd2  (approx 0.080" thick) coated two sides - a medium weight heat protection fabric with
                       great flexibility and good molten splash and weld splatter protection.

    
· 18 oz/yd2  (approx 0.032" thick) coated two sides - a light weight heat protection fabric excellent
                       for the cold side of fabrications, light weld splatter and to cover batted insulation.

The extra thick special formulation of silicone rubber sheds molten metals, slag, welding splatter, electrical or grinding sparks and contamination.  Silco Shield also provides protection from ozone, UV and abrasion.

This Heady Duty roll fabric is supplied in 40" widths and weighs 98 oz/sq yd.  Cut to length, or supplied in 50, 100 and 150 foot lengths.

Various fasteners can be attached by sewing, crimping or bolting through the fabric; allowing a variety of complex shapes to be fabricated.
This is a medium weight fabric, suitable for light molten splash, weld splatter and grinding spark protection.  The base fabric is coated on both sides with our special formulation of silicone rubber .  Easy to work with when fabricating complex shapes for covers and shields.  Provides against ozone, UV and abrasion.

Supplied in 60" widths and weighs 34 oz/sq yd.  Cut to length or supplied in 150 foot lengths.

This is a light-weight fabric, suitable for welding protection, grinding protection, and is often used on the cold side of fabrications.

Very easy to work with when fabricating complex shapes for covers and shields.  Provides against ozone, UV and abrasion.

Supplied in 60" widths and weighs 18 oz/sq yd.  Cut to length or supplied in 150 foot lengths.

Withstands Molten Splash & Welding Splatter.  Withstands 500°F / 260°C continuous exposure;
2200°F / 1205°C for periods up to 15 minutes and short flash excursions to 3000°F / 1650°C.
Materials that resist catching fire, burn slowly, or retard burning can be described as either "incombustible", "non-flammable", "non-combustible", "fire-resistant" or "fire-retardant".  "Self-extinguishing" materials cease burning once the flame or heat source is removed.  "Fireproof" is understood to mean that an object cannot burn, but few materials are truly fireproof. 

Most of our products fall within one or more of the above descriptions: they resist high temperature, flame, fire, molten metal splash and weld splatter very well but may melt with prolonged exposures past their designed maximum continuous operating temperature.  They can also provide OSHA, ANSI-FM & NFPA compliance and personnel protection.

Using our products to retain heat or cold within pipes, hoses, enclosures or equipment helps conserve energy and resources, and reduces operating costs.
