Molten metals simply slide off of the extra heavy duty coating of High-Temperature Silicone Rubber on all of these products (firesleeve), providing excellent burn-through protection.

Firesleeve: Small diameter for wiring protection
High Temperature, Heat & Flame Resistant Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Sleeve
This thin-wall high temperature, heat and flame resistant firesleeve (sometimes spelled fire sleeve or fire-sleeve or fyresleeve) is the perfect choice for protecting small diameter pneumatic lines, fuel & oil lines, brake lines, wires and cables from exposure to high and extreme heat conditions.  The thin-wall fiberglass substrate and smooth silicone rubber on this firesleeve sheds molten metals, slag, welding splatter, electrical or grinding sparks and contamination.  Also provides protection from ozone, UV and abrasion. This product is UL/CSA approved.

The standard colour of firesleeve is red-oxide, but custom colours such as blue, grey, black, yellow and green are available; great for identifying hose and cable use when the sleeve is installed. Firesleeve is THE standard high-temperature and molten splash protection for hose & cable.

This sleeve is only available in full spool lengths shown in the catalog.

Materials that resist catching fire, burn slowly, or retard burning can be described as either "incombustible", "non-flammable", "non-combustible", "fire-resistant" or "fire-retardant".  "Self-extinguishing" materials cease burning once the flame or heat source is removed.  "Fireproof" is understood to mean that an object cannot burn, but few materials are truly fireproof.

Most of our products fall within one or more of the above descriptions: they resist high temperature, flame, fire, molten metal splash and weld splatter very well but may melt with prolonged exposures past their designed maximum continuous operating temperature.  They can also provide OSHA, ANSI-FM & NFPA compliance and personnel protection.

Using our products to retain heat or cold within pipes, hoses, enclosures or equipment helps conserve energy and resources, and reduces operating costs.
